I had an amazing time in Brno, due in no small part to staying here and the assistance of Dario. He is extremely helpful and gives extremely personalised service, possibly the nicest check-in I've ever experienced. Not only did he check me in, but gave me great advice for things to see and do in the city. And I don't mean he just pointed out some highly-rated places on a map or something, I mean he made an effort to find out what kind of things I like, and what kind of experience I'd like to have and gave great advice. I extended my stay, because I was having a fantastic time. And not only that, when I was leaving, he gave me some recommendations on other places to visit in Czech Republic after Brno, and I went to Cesky Krumlov, and it was fantastic as well. I can not recommend Ruta 80 enough. It is exactly what I want out of a hostel experience - friendly staff, interesting other guests, plenty of conversation and so on. It was all there.

Incredible, informative staff. We arrived very late and he welcomed us, sat down and gave detailed information of the city. Small and casual/informal.

Very convenient location - close to several bus and tram stops, easily reachable from the bus station. Nearby there are restaurants and shops. Inside, everything is very clean and quiet.

Very nice hostel, with one of the best atmosphere I have ever found in a hostel. There was also food for breakfast ( first hostel in Czech I have booked in which there was ), the staff were polite and available. Moreover they made a deal with a bar and you have one free beer as well included in the price.

Good host- eager to make you feel welcome. Free everything, parking, wifi, coffee and friendliness. Located on tram station, few stops from centrum. Safe. So can leave the car and look for the czech beer.

Subject: A home away from home

If you are looking for super-cheap accommodation in Brno but still wish to stay somewhere where there is a home-feel (and more importantly where it is safe) then Ruta 80 should be your number 1 choice in my opinion.
The owner is a very helpful and friendly Italian guy and having been an expat in Brno for years he knows exactly where all the hip places are.
I've stayed in most of the Brno hostels at one time or another, but nothing compares to how positive I felt my experience was at Ruta 80.
Plus, the hostel is in a great local area with everything you need within a few minute's walk; whilst being just a 10 minute's walk to the centre.
Recommended!
